South Wales band Sierra Alpha released their new single Superhero June 1st on Major-G Records. (Available via i-tunes) The single is taken from the EP 'Superhero'. The EP has been playlisted on BFBS Radio and Radio 2XS and has received spot plays on Delta FM, The Bateman & Mex Show on Brighton's Radio Reverb, Nation FM, The Wave, Play Radio and 209 Radio.
Riding high on a snowballing fanbase that includes the likes of classical singing damsel Katherine Jenkins, mercurial young 5-piece Sierra Alpha are set to take 2009 by storm. Having clinched a deal with new independent label Major-G Records, who distribute their releases globally via InGrooves, they have their sights set firmly on the prize.
They are the very definition of pop music; directed at anyone and everyone and its purpose is clear. It is the coming of a new era, where pop music regains its reputation as the people's music; a mixture of beauty and rock brilliance built on a very clever and distinctive pop platform.
Frontman Martin Goddard is more than excited to be working with Major-G Records and in particular its founder Gordon Rintoul who has worked with the likes of Alanis Morissette and Paul Weller.
"Gordon's track record speaks for itself. He's worked with many of my idols so these are exciting times for us, and we're thrilled that he's on board and working with us to give the music the credit it deserves. With digital downloads now dominating the music industry, this is the perfect opportunity for us!"
Gordon first saw Sierra Alpha at a London show in September last year and immediately saw their potential.
"Major-G is proud to be working with Sierra Alpha and Mutant Orange Management. Success is often achieved as a by product of hard work, a good team and bundles of talent and with the direction of Mutant Orange and Major-G, Sierra Alpha certainly have all the ingredients to succeed."
