Perrier Award winner Tommy Tiernan is a legend in his home country of Ireland and that reputation is fast gathering momentum here in the UK.

Tiernan thrilled sold out audiences on last years' 'Crooked Man' UK tour and headlined the Dublin leg of Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, which was watched by over 4 million viewers. His subsequent appearance on Live At The Apollo in January demonstrated there is no shortage of demand for his talents.

To see Tiernan live is a rare treat. As his stories unfold, themes are elaborated and his high-energy performances and lyrical way with words keep audiences hooked.

Other Perrier Award winners such as League Of Gentlemen, Lee Evans, Steve Coogan and Frank Skinner followed a journey to more mainstream TV fame, but Tiernan made a conscious decision to walk his own path.

"I know I wouldn't enjoy doing Mock the Week and I’d self-destruct doing 8 Out Of 10 Cats or QI," says Tommy. "Doing those kind of shows is not a skill I’ve developed, I enjoy watching the shows, and I love seeing Sean Lock, but it’s not my area - my strengths are in live shows, I enjoy it more, I don't have a need to do those sorts of shows. I’d love doing radio, just chatting, but the TV thing, I’m not that keen."

With Tommy Tiernan it’s always very much about the live experience. This is live comedy in the hands of a master.
